Transfer and Appeal

Hi,
My asylum case was denied in Denver, CO. I transferred my case from Denver to San Francisco and appealed my case. It has been about 8 months since I transferred my case. My lawyer told me I could apply for EAD after 150 days and when I did that it was denied saying I was still in F1 status. After my case was denied, they put me back in F1 status but I haven't attended any school for last year and half. How can I be on F1 status? How do I confirmed if my case has been transferred to San Francisco? I haven't got any biometrics or anything. My lawyer showed me an email where the USCIS officer said that my address was updated to San Francisco but beside that I don't have anything to show that my asylum is pending. When I asked my lawyer what we can be done, he said he can request to see if anyone can acknowledge my case in San Francisco Office but he said he hasn't heard back from anyone. I know this process takes a long time and lots of people are waiting for their initial interview for almost couple years. I heard EAD was almost given for any asylum case but mine was denied for strange reason. Can anyone tell me what can be done to find out my status? My understanding was my status is asylum pending but asylum office says I am in F1 status. Please help. Thank you.
