Hi, I finished my interview last week and the app is pedning subject to me provoding some missing documents. I have everything except a traffice ticket that i got in San Francisco 5 years ago. I live in NJ now and for the past two days tried eveything possible to get the records from the SF municipal courts with no result.

How do i go about getting a court disposition of the incident in SF while i am in NJ?

I am appealing to anybody who lives in SF area to help me.

I have till July 4th to provide the documents but would like to settle it sooner if possible.

Please help.

thanks

Was it over $500, or did it involve an arrest or alcohol or drugs? Did you go to court?

If the answer to the above two questions was NO, they should not have even asked for it. At this point, probably the best you can get is a document from the state confirming that they don't have driving records for you going back that far.

thanks for the form:

just to clearfy i didnt have a CA license at that time. I was still carrying a Illinois license. basically here is the sequence of events:

I was residing in chicago and was on a software assignment in San Francisco in 2003. I didnt have my car with me as it was back in chicago.
I rented a car from herts for a day trip and got pulled over by a cop in SF downtown for driving in a 1 -way (100 meters of 1 way). When the officer checked my record he informed me that my Illinois driver license was suspended and he had no idea why. I called illinois DMV and found out that my license was automatically suspended for non-compliance of an emmission test. I informed Illinosis DMV that I was out of town and they reinstated my license. Since driving on a suspended license is a traffice misdemanor i had to go to court and pay the fines ($270).

I did'nt go into all this detail in my app but did mention the traffice violation.

Now things make more sense. This is not a case of a nitpicking interviewer unnecessarily wanting proof -- you were convicted of an actual misdemeanor and went to court, you didn't just get a citation for speeding or an illegal turn. Hopefully rick92's link will provide you with what you need. Otherwise, you'll probably have to contact the court itself for the records.

It takes $15.00, it's called "issuing an abstract of judgment"
http://www.sfgov.org/site/uploadedfiles/courts/CriminalFee.pdf

and their phone number is 734-3062 for appeals, misdemeanor & traffic @
http://www.sfgov.org/site/uploadedfiles/courts/contact/sftc-staff-pub_revised.pdf

Anyway, I jsut gave you the link to all the phone numbers of the courts and the hall of justice where you have to make the call. Be sure to be prepared with your driver license number when you call.

Good luck.- :D:D:D

ok here is the thing, I called the above contact numbers. aparently there are two separate sections. The criminal division and traffice division. The person at the criminal division checked my records and found no records. She then checked the traffice section and found the 'one-way traffice' offense as i stated above. There is no record of the misdemanor charge. She said for the criminal section she will issue a "certifcate of no record found" and for a traffic section she will provide me with a receipt of the payment of the fine.

I am not sure why they dont have a record of the misdemanor. at the time of offence i was carrying an illinois license so does that mean that the record will be in illinois?
but the offense was not commited in IL?

not sure what to do. shall i just go ahead and provide the above two items?

If there was a misdemeanor offense, it was not in Illinois, because you were not in Illinois driving the hertz car with the suspended driver license. The action of driving with the suspended driver license ocurred in San Francisco.

If there is no record, the judge must have had it expunged from your record when you paid and the SF DMV Judge saw that the D/L was already valid and the reason why it had become valid. Remember, no matter what anybody tells you, the police officer acted as a state witness when he saw you driving on a one way st, he filed the summons against you, but the only other person that can make it go away when you went to court, is the Judge and that is a Final Judgment.

I would provide both, the certificate of no record found and the receipt of the fine payment, and you are all set, buddy. Don't worry and keep your chin up. You are good to go. Good luck.- :D:D:D

thanks, ya i dont have too many other options.

Just hope that the IO accepts it.

keeping my fingers crossed.
