Traffic violation question

Hi all,

I am going to start my cz process and have a question about the "Good Moral Character" section of the application. I got a citation for an unsafe stop in the freeway about a couple of years back. I pleaded no contest and sent in the fine. I also attended traffic school and so this violation was never reported to DMV. After going through some posts here, it seems like I have to answer "YES" to question 16.

What about questions 15, 17, and 18 shown below?

15) Have you ever committed a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested?

17) Have you ever been charged of committing a crime or offense?

18) Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

Do I answer "YES" to any of these questions? i.e. is a traffic violation considered a crime or offense? If so, then it seems that I should answer "YES" to all the questions above. If not, then I can answer "NO" to all questions above.

Anyone who is knowledgable with above issues, pls share them here.

Thanks,

Rajesh

i declared my speeding ticket when i file my n400. I thinks its better to say YES and explain details. Although they dont pay too much attntion to traffic violates but its better to state them

Thanks abs49080 and soccer101 for your replies.

I am also planning on declaring my ticket on the application, but what I am confused is, if the traffic violation considered a crime and/or offense. Did you answer "YES" to all the questions 15, 16, 17, and 18 or just to question 16?

TIA,
Rajesh

i did considered mine as offence and my ticket as citation so I answer yes on item # 15-16. I also underlined the word offence and cited in the above item on my application.

Thanks abs49080.

Two more questions: Is there any document to be attached explaining the ticket when we send in the application? Also, what kind of documents related to the ticket do we need to take along during interview?

answer yes to question 16 citation by officer only. proof of ticket issued and how disposed should be carried ie paid the money or something in writing saying ticket dismissed.

For part: D16

I have filed my N400, and I had 4-traffic violation, 2 speeding and 2 for not stop at stop sign. I did put

Under “Why were you arrested, cited”, I put “Traffic violation”,
Under “Outcome or disposition of the citation”, I put “ Paid Fine”

Just make a copy of your Ticket, and save it with you for the interview. Good luck, everything is easy as long you understand the Questions, and we are human been :)

Good luck , and i wish you the best :)
