traffic tickets not reported on N 400

N400 applicant

Hi,

I had one traffic ticket too for changing lane without giving indicator. I got the ticket in 2000 and paid fine and took defensive driving .

I have not put it on my N400 application.(DO-> dallas) Actually I totally forgot about it and just remembered 2 days back after reading all the traffic tickets related posts on this forum.

Can I or the officer make changes to the N400 during the interview. I mean when the officer goes over all the questions, can I tell him/her that I have a traffic ticket and the N400 needs to be changed to reflect that ?

I dont have a copy of the ticket and nor saved any proof of payment. So what evidence do I need to show to prove that it was not DUI/DWI or reckless driving and that the ticket(fine) was paid in time.

Seeking advice/ideas from you all. My interview date is next week...!!!(first week Feb 2005 in Dallas TX).

Thanks

I'm not a lawyer....

What I would do is go to he police dept and request a copy from their records. They probably do that all the time for insurance reasons etc.

That's what I plan to do for my wife's case, since I didn't put her two tickets on the N400 either.

Just carry that info with you to the interview - and ask the officer about it before he/she asks you. :)

If you're really nervous about it, ask an immigration lawyer first.

get a certified court depsosition or recipt for def driving course and take it to the interview. mention to officer

Hi,

I immediately ordered a copy of my complete driving history from Austin/TX.
from their website . I ordered the certified copy for 12 bucks.

The website said the report will be mailed out in 5 days and my interview is first week Feb 2005. So Chances are very less I will recieve the report in time.

I personally went to my Dallas DMV office and asked several supervising officers if they can pull out and print me a report then and there. I explained my reasons for the emergency , but they courteously told me they cannot do it. The only way to get is to request the copy from Austin ( which I had already done couple hours earlier).

Now, do you know if I can immediately get a copy or proof of ticket paid from the court ? Has anyone tried it ? Does the local court print out the report the same day while we are waiting or they too send it from Austin records only through mail ?

Anyone having experience with getting a proof of ticket paid record from any local TX court would be appreciated.

Again in my case the ticket was from Houston and paid at Houston court and currently I am in Dallas.

Thankssssss....
