Traffic citation

Hello,

While submitting N-400 application I was under the impression that I do not have to consider traffic violations and tickets. So, I ignored and answered 'No' in the suggested application.
Lately, I found out that I was supposed to mention 'all' citations. I'm not sure what really makes a citation - a traffic ticket asking you to appear in a court?
I do have an old (12 years) o case where I was given a traffic ticket for making a U-turn. But I was student back then and visiting that state so instead of attending court end up paying the requested amount.

Well, I'm curious to know:
1) If the case above would be legally term as citation?
2) If I need to make adjustments in my N-400 form now, what are my options and how to go about it?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I was under the same impression and did not mention a speeding ticket that I got 12 years ago. Some people go back and try to get court records etc. Well, I was travelling through and I have no recollection what town or county I was passing at the time.

So when the officer at the interview asked that question I just said that I had a speeding ticket a while back. She said it is OK, asked if I had a DUI or not and then repeated the question :"Have your ever been detained, cited etc.., excluding traffic violations?". And that was the extent of it for me.
So just do not hide it and you should be OK.
