Hello, I have my oath schedule in a couple of weeks but i was recently cited (for doing a u-turn). I know i have to include this information on the back of form N-445 (oath letter) but was just wondering if anyone has experience with this situation and can provide any advice?

thanks !

Quite a few people at my oath ceremony were in this situation. Since it isn't DUI or drug related, you'll declare the infraction, the officer may ask a few more questions and then you'll be ok. Make sure you have paid the ticket and take the receipt with you though - USCIS doesn't like unresolved cases.

Just curious, why was it wrong to do a U-turn? Was there a specific posting no U-turn or did you do a U-turn accross double dividing lines?
thanks.

It is not clear from your post, if you paid the fine and closed the ticket, I think you cannot have any pending tickets at the time of oath, if you did not pay the ticket, you may want to pay it ASAP and take the pertinent documentation to the oath ceremony

I already had my oath and had no issues. The lady asked me if what was the citation for... I said a u-turn. She smiled and wrote ok. She did not even ask me for the receipt to show that i paid it.

I would still recommend that people close any open tickets before the oath. It obviously depends on the type of ticket but also on the person who handles you paperwork at the location of oath.

good luck!
