Traffic accident 8 yrs old??

I am completing N400 for my wife. She had an minor accident and she was at fault. So she got the ticket. But this happened 8yrs back. I know I need to mention it, but as DMV doesn't keep record that long what kind of supporting document I should send with the application? If I don't send anything then they may ask about proof of payment or related document. How do I produce that?
 
My wife talked to DMV and they don't have any record of the ticket as well as payment. Where else can she call to find out the ticket info for Feb 1998.

for me, I took Driving Defense Course for my speeding ticket, and the case was cleared, no history show. Should I mention it also on the From N400 for the citation of speeding? Thanks
 
My understanding of the declaration is that you have to specifiy ALL infractions (minor, major, recent, old etc.). Even if there is no current DMV record.
