VSC is starting to transfer EB-1 cases to NSC now. My EA case was transferred today as was another users' (santini). Please post your info here so that we can estimate trends.

I-140 VSC Eb-2NIW RD 9/30/05 ND 10/24/05
I-485- concurrent filing RD 9/30/05

EB-1 credentials

My application was prepared hastily to meet the retrogression deadline but here's the info I submitted:
1. MBBS from India, currently doing residency in middle-rung university. Doing 3 yrs of cancer research during residency.
2. Seven publications in medium rank journals (impact factor 5 to 8) including two first author papers. Citations about 10-12 independent (papers published within last 1.5 yrs). Six conference posters.
3. currently writing invited review - unfortunately invitation was to my mentor not to me but I'm first author.
4. Oncology fellowship (subspecialty clinical training) acceptance at all 5 top cancer hospitals. Finally signed up with top medical school. Fellowship to commence July 2006.
5. Six letters submitted- 2 from current bosses, one completely independent, 2 from alumni of my medical school (?independent), one short letter from future boss.
6. Along with mentor, recipient of grant from private cancer research foundation.
7. No major awards. Memberships in societies which only require nomination from previous members so nothing great.

As you can see, my application isn't that strong. Hopefully, I'll get the benefit of doubt because of the national shortage of physician-scientists (submitted evidence to that effect).

I recommend to mentally prepare to file an EB2-NIW. To my evaluation, the chances of Eb1 are tough. But you may be lucky to go through if you get a nice officer.

EB1-OR transferred from VSC to NSC

My EB1-OR I-140 was transferred today from VSC to NSC (along with two I-485s).

LUD changes

Dear Santini and pplu,

Thanks guys for your words of encouragement. About the LUDs, I've noticed the same for my case on 5/2, 5/3 and 5/4 but these may only reflect the transfer from one location to another.
My attorney informed me that 6 other EB1 cases being handled at the firm were transferred as well but the transferred cases would get priority for processing. Based on experiences of people who had their cases transferred to TSC, we should be hearing about our cases in the next 3 weeks at the latest. good luck guys!

My case (I-140) EB-3 was also transfered to NSC.

chatto,
I am not sure the source for your attorney's statement regarding transferred cases will be given priority in processing. We know that this is not the case at TSC. I am not sure how this is carried out at NSC.
If you closely observe the TSC thread, you will find the priority of case processing as follows: 1. Cases submitted to TSC directly; 2. Cases transferred from CSC to TSC (starting with EB3 cases, EB2 cases, and then WB1 cases); 3. We have not seen any case approval (even EB3) among the recent VSC to TSC transfers.

I-140 transfer received at NSC

I got an email from USCIS nebraska saying that they received my I-140 application there today. So the transfer from VSC to NSC took one week in my case.

As for the processing times, 2006gc is right that my attorney was probably being optimistic but I don't think transferred cases will take too long. Judging by a few CSC to TSC transfer examples (newdoc-CSC RD 3/8/06, transfer 3/21/06, AD-4/27/06; ooooo- CSC RD 10/3/05, transfer 3/27/06, AD-4/18/06; dilll- CSC RD 11/7/05, transfer- 3/22/06, AD-5/2/06), it could be as fast as 4-5 weeks following transfer. I certainly hope this will be the trend at NSC.
