Tracking status on the website

Folks,

I looked but i could not find answer to this..My N-400 application was sent end of July. The checks were cashed the following week but nothing else since then. From the cancelled checks I see that number as LIN XXXXXXX (seven numbers following LIN) but when i go the website it says it has to be 13 digits. Not sure what i am missing here. Can someone please help ?

PS : I tried with different LIN combinations listed below but nothing works. It says invalid number.

I had the same issue. What you have to do is look at the BACK of the check and you'll see a number printed, not handwritten. It's in small font typed vertically. That's how it was for me.

The number handwritten on the front of the check never worked for me, not even with the 0s added infront.

No, it should be two zeros. It's ten digits as well. Mine was ESC*00XXXXXXX.

Sometimes the tracking number will have an asterisk (*) and sometimes a dollar sign ($).
