Tracking labor in PERM

Hai All,
I completed my Masters here in US in Dec.2004 and working in IT since then. My employer, located in Virginia, applied for my Labor through PERM around 20th of July 2006. He gave me an application number.
Can somebody suggest me how long it could take for the approval? Is there any tracking system for the PERM labor?
I would also appreciate if you can give me more information about what should be my next steps.

It could take between 2 days (see one of the posts here) to 160 days (see another post)... It usually takes between 45-60 days, but it's closer to 2 weeks in most occasions :-D

There really isnt a way of trending it, it's not very concrete, and simply not enough data is out there. If you want, there is a website called trackit or something, I know they have some graphs.

Your employer or the lawyer of your employer can check the status of your application.
