Tracking 2016 CN's using Visa Status Check

I have the same question. When I try to enter the case number it says "invalid immigrant visa case number." :confused:
 
From memory, I don't think you can check that until you have your 2NL and/or interview? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
 
That is where all the "CEAC data" comes from. The 2016 cases are not loaded in there yet - and in fact the 2015 cases did not get in there until Jan 1. The data is very simplistic - it will not tell you anything about your DS260. So - it says "at NVC" before you are scheduled and then it says READY/ISSUED etc as your case is interviewed.

Thank you. @Britsimon, do you suggest emailing the KCC for a status update instead? Say after 4 or 8 weeks or maybe longer?

Last year it took almost 5 months for DS260s to be processed - this was partly because they invited 125k people and reducing that to 91k will reduce backlogs for DS260 processing in DV2016. People emailing them doesn't make that faster - and you will hear nothing in the meantime. Because of your low number you will have a chance of being interviewed in October - but that relies on your DS260 being processed by early August. If you miss that, then you'll be in the September 2NLs for a November interview.
