what is the procedure for the FBI name check.

I got this number somewhere in one of the threads (202-324-3625).
What will they ask and what all things I should be ready with.can you let me the procedure.

I've tried calling them twice at the number you used, but it didn't seem to generate any response. Later, I faxed them a letter, providing all the information including name, dob, alien number and email address. To my surprise, I got an email below on day.

Dear **:

Reference is made to your letter dated June 14, 2004, concerning your immigration status. The FBI completed a record check for you on December 19, 2002, and the results were forwarded to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Sincerely yours,


I would've given you my sample letter but I really couldn't find it anymore.
It's been a while. Please do a little search on this great forum. I used the sample letter and fax number provided in one of the relevant threads. Good luck.
 
Senators office of no help

I contacted Sen Charles Durbin office of IL. They opened an enquiry and gotten reply back from USCIS saying that the current date is feb 2002 and my RD is Sept 2002.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I don't know what to say.. I wonder what they will say about approvals for cases filed in 2004 by USCIS Lincoln...
 
I got it!

Finally, after exact 2 months of finger print I got an approval email for both of my wife and me one hour ago. It is pitty that I just pushed my lawyer to send my EAD renewal applications for myself and my wife yesterday morning 9:00 A.M. Few hundred dollars are gone. But compared with so much pains for waiting, it is nothing. :D

I got a reply from FBI today that my and spouse's name check was done on Jan 6th 2003 in reponse to my query on sept 16th (see above)

I dont know what;s holding my case.. Really really frustrated!!!!!!...

Finally 2nd FP

All,

Last week I got notice for the 2nd FP. I did that a week earlier than the appointment date. But there was no change in LUD until today.

I have recently accepted a new position using AC21.

Man!!!!!! Atlast, by god's grace.... My case is approved today11/18/2004.
Hang on everybody your turn will come.

Changed three companies after about a year of filing the 485. Never sent AC21 letter. Never Changed address.

Semi Concurrent. 485 applied before 140 aprroved.

Got RFE in 140, EAD and AP.

Except for 140 replied RFEs by myself

I strongly feel applying Spouse EAD renewal triggered acivity on case.

Name check requested in Sept '04 got reply in one month saying it was cleared long back(dont remember the dates)

Today at around 5pm got email that SPouse case approved. I logged to check and found my case approved too. I did not get email yet.
AD 11/18/2004!!!
