An waitingforaos and as you al know by now my case has been transfered to the Atlanta office. Am in a very tricky situation. Today my client made me a offer. Its a very good offer and I would be only stupid not to accept it. But the only problem is that they hire only GC holders and citizens. They assumed that I had already got my greencard....as its been pending for so long.
Any suggestions as what are my options will be greatly appreciated.
I am planning on talking to them and try and convince them that they can hire me on EAD.....will it be safe for me to join on EAD...Anyways they don't plan on wanting me to go on board before february 2004

Talk to them . Most of the HR people don't know the difference between EAD and GC. They want to avoid all immigration mess like H1,GC processing etc. You can join with them using your EAD and you may have to handle your GC process by yourself. Talk to your lawyer tell him/her that you want to keep him/her as your GC lawyer.
I did the same thing , my Client ( now I am an employee) said “GC is your problem we don’t involve in this , as long as your are authorised to work we are OK”

Go head man , get rid of blood drinking consulting companies , earn more money.

Good Luck
:) :)

Waitingforaos,

I checked my I485 online status and got the following status:

"On October 29, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER for processing. That office has jurisdiction over the case. They will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times."

I moved from NJ to Atlanta.

Do you know from the above status that my case transfered to MISSOURI SC or ATLANTA Local office?

Thank you in advance.
