Help?
I am an American citizen living in the state of Utah. I want to go to the University of Toronto in a couple years. I know this is early, but I guess it's never too early to start planning and gathering information...
As I said, I want to go to the university there, but also want to live in Canada afterwards. Thus, I'd like to become a Permanent Resident in Canada. I'm wondering: what are the requirements & how do I go about doing it? I've read all the sticky topics but am still confused on how it would all apply to a US citizen who will be going to study/live in Canada. Can I just apply for permanent residency in Canada from here and use that when I go, or do I need some other lesser status (some student visa maybe?) and then after living in Canada as a student for a certain amount of time, I can then finally apply for PR (or what?)?
Many thanks and sorry if this is a repeat question... I just couldn't find a clear answer of the above.
Thanks again!
