Too optimistic?

Hi Folks,

What would be a reasonable timeline to expect to have our PIO cards assuming we apply for it about June 1st week (perhaps SFO)? (We have our naturalization interview on Monday and then plan to expedite US passports.)

We are hoping to travel to India in August (3rd week or so). Just wondering if it would be too tight.

Also, on that note, if there are anythings to further speed-up the steps, feel free to suggest. (I am already contemplating canceling Indian passport in parallel with getting US one. However, SFO OCI team responded back saying they do not anticipate that Indian passport cancellation to effect OCI processing time.)

Looking for your experienced suggestions...

I applied for PIO at SFO on 5/11 and the date they gave me to collect the same is 6/15. He cancelled my Indian PPT right there at the counter and gave it back to me. Even though you have to submit the Indian PPT and I asked him to keep it, he gave it back to me after seeing it.

Cost is $310 for the above timeline. However for addl $90, you can get it faster, he mentioned, but I declined. Not sure how fast is 'faster'.

Hope this helps.
