whatever will be the decision... the life goes on and on... and we need not to be upset, hurt, or damaged... no one knows what the life hides for us, and that's why it's so sweet... this year was my first time to apply for the lottery, and if the results won't be reinstated or I'll not be selected again.. I wont apply again, I'll find a better way....

My life goes on, but i will be desapointed... puting faith in the hand of incompetant uncarring peoples...

not the US goverment, thoses who took care of this whole lottery... it is not the whole goverment, just few peoples
These people you refer to are the US Government. If you get your immigrant visa you'd be putting your fate and your life into their hands.

There is still a possibility of reselection so its what we have to look to. But the lawsuit might surprise. i think there are alot of inconsistencies with DOS and the judge might not overlook them.

but the problem is - the Government hired these people (project managers, product specialists, programmers etc)

I do realize that the DV lottery is among the lowest priorities of the DOS programs, but still. If this truly was a "programming error", if this error has made it's way to the production system, then I gotta tell you (I 'm in the IT field , so I cans speak on the matter) that this is just an unspeakable unprofessionalism resulted by the complete incompetence of these in the DOS who hired these people (or the consulting firm). It all comes to budget and to decisions. I'm sure if they'd hire more expensive specialists , this would never happen.

now another thing - can we now be 100% sure that the lottery engine and the database are 100% secure and protected from hacking? I guess the answer is no...

We will know tomorow, the judge can also look at the human side & the promisssory escopel... Because DOS basicaly is saying "we hurt you? big deal, now move on foreigners"

You guys should see this thing from another point of view...a more humble point of view...AT LEAST USA provides a lottery chance to get a PERMANENT RESIDENT PERMIT...I don't know of any other country in the world that does this....and I live in Europe (Spain), and I know what it costs to get one here....

You should thank and support DOS guys to be working on this stuf, with their errors and successes, but they are !!!!!!

All my support to DOS and the US Government.

Pizarro, yes, thank you for bringing the light of a positive attitude into this otherwise dark thread :)
I did not mean to just criticize the DOS and the US Government which I respect much more than that of my home country. But this is a problem of a much larger scale than if, say they'd have a problem with the website for a day or to - that's no big deal. But we're talking about the very core of the system being malfunctioning and causing a malicious data updates.

I guess my point here is that no matter how much we love the USA and respect it's government we have to be prepared to take "shots" like this one in the future as well. And come to an understanding that even the USA government is not "perfect"

You should thank and support
Thank - yes, agreed.
Support - I only believe in a practical support. At this time sadly there's nothing I can do to ensure the quality of their software products. :(

Tommorrow will always be what to be.We need to border ourselves and allow things to go the way the Government always want it to go.I still believe that their would be some consideration as human nature just to make things go the right way thats suppose to go by allowing DOS annoucing the results, but the worst judgement that can happen in court would to re-instate the 22k.

Hello Forumites

Here comes the 11th Hour. What is the Judge pronouncement gonna be? We don't know. I for sure know it is going to favor some people, while it won't favor others. That's life we've gotta accept it in good faith.

The lottery has caused so much controversies, hate, anger, disappointment and most of all, confusion on this forum. This forum use to be peaceful, devoid of insult and fracas. But since the inception of this Lottery Fiasco. This forum has turned into something else. Folks, no matter what the result is, come July 12 and July 15. Life still continues it doesn't change our destiny. Losing the lottery doesn't mean the end of the world. Maybe, its not your destiny. I believe God has different plans for all of us. Don't take losing out of this lottery as a set back. Thus goes a saying " If one doors closes, others will definitely open.

So, gentlemen and ladies of this forum. Let all live in peace, and refrain from abusing and using harsh words on each other. God will always deliver all of us in our respective fields of endeavors, and walk of life.

Most of all, I want to say " Good Luck to everybody"

My opinion about July 12 and July 15. Well, I don't know. But i am ready for the unexpected :)
