Here is a simple reasoning puzzle...

A woman walks into the jungle (don’t ask me why) with her child. The child wanders and ends up in the Lion's lair.

The woman finds the child and begs the lion to give her the child back. The lion tells her that he would give her the child if she correctly said what the lion will do with the child i.e. give it back or eat it!

What should the woman say?

Give it???

--The woman finds the child and begs the lion to give her the child back.--

Presuming the child is still alive

--The lion tells her that he would give her the child--

The lion says that he will give back the child

--if she correctly said what the lion will do with the child--

So he agrees to give back the child, provided the woman can say the right thing

--i.e. give it back or eat it!--

So for him to give back the child the woman has to say give it back

Makes sense anyone????

does not make any sense at all

this patienceGC or whatever couldn't answer any previous onces, nor he knows answer to his own query.

snowman .... take a hike!

The official answer is "eat it"

Cuz if he did, what the woman said will become true and he has to give the child back. of course 'give it back' will be immediately proved false with a big fat burp!

patienceGC,

a little confused about the answer ...

1. lion was going to "eat the child"

woman says "eat", which is correct and so lion gives the child back

2. lion was going to "give the child back"

woman says "eat", which is incorrect and so lion doesn't give the child back. whether the lion is going to eat the child or not is another question.

what am I missing?

Can anyone read anyone else's mind?

If the answer is Yes - There is answer to this Q.
Else - You just cannot answer this Q.

The real scenario is, Lions Never Talk :-))
