The long journey is final over! Today I got my I-485 approved email!
I've been visiting this website for God knows how many years! Although I never posted anything, I got a lot of help and, more importantly, hope, from all the posts. So here is the details of my case, and hope this would make a little contribution to the community.
I'm under EB2 NIW, started I-140 application in Sep., 2002 (hardly believe any case old than this!). I-140 got approved in Nov., 2004; I-485 was submitted in March, 2005. Then the endless waiting casued by name checking started, I contacted almost anyone (sentor, congressmen, etc.) I could think of, except the first lady. Case was transfered to NSC from CSC between Feb. and Mar. this year. Got a RFE (on TB test) in June and replied it early July. Got a letter from a congressman saying NC cleared at the end of June. And finally got the approved email today!
Now I believe the USCIS did assign visa number to cases like mine before they ran out of number (or they might still have some visa number available). I called NSC a couple of times after July, and they kept telling me because of the delay from the RFE, I can only get any news after Oct. - now I believe this is not true.
So folks there, keep your fingers crossed, good news may come soon!
