VSV,

Looks like your FP might have expired. Have you requested TSC for a new FP notice? Some of us in the same situation as you have already done something about it. We got our FP redone with our old notices though our FP was rescheduled by TSC for June.
Please go to "www.isn.org" --> 485 issues and look for all postings by "Sunny" and "Bhajan". You will get a lot of clarifications concerning this issue.
After that if you still have any questions, you can address them to me.
Desi90210 might just make it and get his approval on time,
because his FP was done in Dec 1999.

Thanks,

Sunny

SunnyKoka,

thanks for your help.
As far as I know, FP expires in 15 months from the date INS receives FP from FBI (15 months is NOT calculated from the date we give FP).
Recently I spoke to an IIO at TSC and he told me that TSC would issue FP redo notice if INS is unable to approve the case within 30 days from the date of expiry. I have done my FP on Dec7,99 and was recd by INS around Jan 10,2000. So, according to the above calculation, my FP would have expired just last week or so. INS should either approve my case or issue a FP redo in the next 3/4 weeks. But as we all know TSC might simply keep quite without doing anything.

I will keep you posted if I hear anything from INS.

wish you all the best of luck.

SunnyKoka,

I have read all the posts by you and others at isn. I myself did send a fax to TSC about 10 days ago but so far I have not heard anything from them, either my mail or by fax. May be I need to send another fax in a day or two. I might wait for about 2/3 weeks before I follow your suggestion of attempting to redo FP with the first(old-99) FP notice.

thanks,

Desi90210,

I dont think you should have a problem. TSC is trying to approve most cases who did their FP in Dec 1999 so that they dont have to redo their FP. You should get your approval within 2-3 weeks if all goes well. If your case is not approved by the end of May then you might have to worry about FP redo.
I think its cases with FP in 11/1999 that have a problem right now and may get rescheduled for FP.
My FP was done in 10/1999 and accepted by INS from FBI sometime in Dec 1st week. TSC told me in March 2001 that they cannot approve my case due to FP expiry. They rescheduled my FP for 06/26/2001 but I still haven\'t received that actual notice. But I dont have to worry about that anymore.

Thanks,

Sunny

Sunnykoka,

Thanks for letting me know. I will call TSC and check for it:-). I have a question though. My FP even though it took place on 11/10/99, it was approved only on 1/3/00 due to computer problems at the local office. 15 months from the date that INS receives the approved FP is the validity period for FP? Right? Thanks again.

Vybhav,

Since your FP was approved only in 01/2000 I think you should be able to get your approval still.
Do everything you can ( call and fax TSC ) to let them know about your expiring FP so that they can approve your case in 2-3 weeks.
TSC Fax Numbers are (214)-489-4012 and (214)-767-7654.
Fax letters to both numbers with complete case details including your SRC number, A number, etc and explaining that your FP is about to expire and request them to approve your case ASAP.
If you\'re not approved by mid May you will then have to start faxing a new letter requesting them to schedule an FP redo date and to fax you back the date that they have scheduled you.

This will ensure that your FP redo gets rescheduled.
After Mid May, if you do not wish to wait for your FP redo date you can go to the FP Center with your old FP notice ( original or courtesy copy ) that you used in 11/1999 and tell them that you wish to do your finger prints. If you get lucky they might let you do your prints.
Some of us got our Fingerprints redone using our old notices since we did not want to wait till June for our FP redo.

The isn.org site is back up now though its still a little inconsistent. Use the Search feature in the "isn.org" site for postings by "Sunny" or "Bhajan" or "Inian" and you will get a lot more details regarding this issue.

Thanks,

Sunny

SunnyKoka,

thanks for your posts and suggestions. They certainly help all of us.
I have sent a fax to TSC a couple of days ago requesting them to expedite my case and also to tell me my case status. Today I have recd a reply from TSC saying that my FP have expired on 4/10 (INS has recd them on Jan 10, 2000 ....I gave the FP on Dec 7,1999). My wife\'s FP also has expired according to that fax. They mentioned that they are going to send me a FP redo notice in the next 30 to 90 days.
I don\'t why they need to wait that long to issue a FP redo notice. Looks like TSC just want to pursue some time by dragging the matters this way. Last time some IIO told me that they will not issue redo until 1 month after the expiry as they will try to approve the case so that they can avoid redoing of FP. So, in my case, the earliest that they will issue FP redo is only after May10 or so.

I have seen a couple of postings of approvals of EB3-TSC-INDIA whose PD is 9/97 and 485 ND of Sep/Oct 99. I am not sure what is TSC\'s processing criteria. I hope they have not started their style of random approvals as they did last year.

SunnyKoka, please keep posting your views/experiences as they benift us a lot. Unlike VSC board, we do not see many posts here on TSC 485 board.
