Hi!
I am a 2009DV winner from Europe and I am planning to get married in a couple of weeks. Should I send the papers to KCC now and resend them after I get married or should I wait and send them once? Is there a deadline? my CN is 24xxx so it will be current maybe next june.

Please help!

Thanx!

It Really Dosen't Matter. U Might As Well Just Wait Until You Get Married.

There is no deadline. However the applications have to be "processed" by KCC before an interview is scheduled. Last year (2007) I was told when I phoned KCC that it takes upto 12 weeks to process applications. Interviews are scheduled around 2 months before a case number becomes current. (Soon after advanced notification is given.)
Since your number is 24XXX, delaying sending the application till after you get married should not cause a problem at all.
In fact there is a positive reason whu you should delay sending forms till after you get married. It may marginally reduce the possibility that the motives for the marriage will be suspected.

So, does it mean you need to send back the ds-230 around 5 months before you CN is current.
12 weeks for processing (around 3 months)
+
2 months - interview is scheduled before the CN becomes current?

I wouldn't quite put it that way.
I just wanted to make the point that if there is a compelling reason to delay sending the form (such as a pending marriage) a little (such as up to 1 or 2 months) then there is no harm in doing so, if the CN is high.
In fact I sent in my form more than 1 month after I had received the NL even though I didn't have any compelling reason to delay. I just wanted to take my time and be 100% sure that there were no mistakes in the way I filled the forms.
I wouldn't needlessly dalay sending the forms for much longer than 1 or 2 months even though on the face of it it may seem ok. (And it does seem ok to send the applications just 5 months before the time you estimate your CN to be current)

Also keep in mind that I am not saying that it takes precisely 12 weeks for forms to be processed.
What I am saying is: last year (2007) I was told that it can take up to 12 weeks for forms to be processed. Who knows, this year it may have increased to 16 weeks!
