I got GC approval on May 20th, but I still didn't get my GC. Can I apply for I-130 for my wife? I have the lettter from local USCIS office that states that I was approved but waiting for GC. Is this enough to be submitted as evidence of residence?

anybody else?

Hi nofreedom -

Wantmygcnow is correct. You can file I-130 for your wife. In fact, please submit it as soon as possible as you don't want to waste time.

I know they no longer issue temporary GCs, so you will need to include as much proof as possible with your application. For example, you would need to include a copy of the approval letter from the local DO. You should also include a picture ID - like a DL to prove your identity. You should also include a letter stating that they (CIS) no longer issue temp GCs and that you will submit a copy of your GC as soon as you get it.

Hope this helps. Let us know how the process goes. Good luck!
