To include company name change in an RFE response?

Hi,
I am new here. I am very impressed with all the activities in this forum. Thanks to moderators for me to post my question.

I and my wife recently received RFEs for vaccination record (supplemental to I-693) and birth certificate (& marriage cert for my wife). It's a pretty simple request. But our company recently changed its name (six months ago). There were no other changes at all, just a simple name change. The RFEs were received by our company's legal dept because they used our company for my address. They didn't submit G-28 form, so I am not represented by anybody. They want to include a letter to inform the company name change in the RFE response. Outside immigration lawyer they consult suggested an amendment of I-140. I feel that either case might delay approvals. A couple of my colleagues got approvals recently without notifying name change, and of course, they didn't get RFEs.

What do you think I should do? I read somewhere that simply notifying name change would not hurt. I wonder if I can just send required documents without mentioning company name change? Thanks.

RFE response

I would not like to provide any information in addition to what has been asked for. But it is best to do what your company lawyer suggests. You may like to double check with him/her whether you really need to send the extra docs.

Good luck - you should bealmost thru'.

If only the name of the company has been changed, it might be best to just add a press release that states the same while replying to the RFE. This is a common occurance, and if properly documented, there is no need for an amended 140 (which is required for serious issues like tax id change etc.) but I guess an amended 140 is the super safe way to go.
