I am continuouly surprised to see the lack of real men in this forum. Again and again instead of replying to my posts, people like Guldukan go back to my alleged name ( Deepa, Deepthi etc. ) and their mouths and other stuff start watering thinking of an imaginary PU**Y AND VA**NA.... Other people call me lonely or mad and refuse to respond to the original post.

Guldukan, keep watering..but be careful..don't turn dry and fall down like an autumn leaf..but do respond to my question..

Other people.. answer my question..why should America let you in..You guys are not skilled becasue you are a programmer..why should we pay you when we can get a guy in india to do the same thing for $500 a month ? Where are your soft skills ? I have seen desis stutter and stammer when talking..just being OK in a programming language does not mean anything.

This one guy starts calling me a beggar...silly silly... I meant you guys are begging for a GC..If you are so smart, go back to yur home country and do something.. then this CATDOG will salute you

catdog,

You have finally convinced me of your point. I truly believe that the US should stop taking in immigrants. The US does not need people like us. The H1-B program should be scrapped, GC provisions should be reserved only for certain sections that the US feels are worthy of this honor and those of us that are already here should pack up and leave. We need more people like you to spread this word. Thanks for being so objective and clear about this solution. You are onto something huge, have you thought of forming an organized group, raising funds for a website and lobbying in Congress. You will get tremendous support from organizations such as numbersusa, minutemen and numerous others. I wish you all the success in the world to spread your anti-immigrant agenda. The only thing I am worried about is that this agenda may lead to a broadning of anti-immigrant sentiment in this country. I am assuming you are not a born citizen of this country, if that is the case then you need to make sure that Americans understand that you are just against new immigrants, older immigrants that have made it through the system should not be targeted. The problem that I forsee is that the average American will not be able to tell the difference and neither will the authorities that will be in charge of deporting the newer immigrants. Maybe you should think of a symbol or icon for your organization and distribute arm bands that members of your group (mostly older immigrants that have the GC or citizenship) could wear when they go out. This will be a great way to differentiate between the immigrants that are here permanently and others that your organization will lobby to be deported shortly. There is always the risk of people turning against you because you are after all an immigrant but I am sure you have thought of all this ...

Thanks again for opening my eyes to the truth .. we need more enlightend people like you on this forum.

sincerely,

saras

Thank you saras for your mature post. You always have a knack of answering the questions with out offending anyone.
Since I am irrational and immature my take is different,

Before others respond to your naive question, let us hear from you the answer to your own question. Why do you think you deserve to be in America ? What makes you superior ? Is it the communication skills that you seem to boast over or the immaturity ? I learned one thing through my short life that if I have to criticize others I should have experienced what they went through or atleast I should be one. If I apply the same logic to your question, you seem to be suffering from complex that wants isolation from your fellows and you have a hatred for "the desis" the way you put it.

Ny.United,

No need to explain to this kind of people. I am sure that this guy is not from the immigrant community. No matter how biased you are but you cannot be that stupid if you have a any smallest idea of how an immigrant lives his life through this immigration process. I am sure that CATDOG is some volunteer from the NumberUSA or other extremist group like that. His sole purpose is to generate negative energy here and distract all of us from our goal.

I am sure from reading all his posts that he does not have any immigrant in his background. I hope that god bless his heart because he does not know what he is doing.

Depthi sweet heart would please take that red pill, it just amazes me that you really seems to belive into your own crap.

on serious note itz really a time that you pay visit to your family doctor. oh wait is your doc from India on H1B ;)

naa she is one of us man and perhaps got her GC a while back

The USA need skilled immigrants. The key point is, how many ? That's the point that many are missing. The SKIL bill may well turn into the SKUL bill. People keep pressing for unrealistic high numbers and that just makes our life so much harder. Can you imagine if the SKIL bill is defeated ?

You are correct. I know many at immigrationvoice.org can get angry when hearing this, but the reality is that folks with later PD's should be ready for a possible long, long ride. I am not even sure whether the SKUL bill can make it anymore, even if they decide to tone it down a little. As far as CIR goes, one doesn't need to be very smart to understand that the so called "Immigration Hearings" accross the country are just playing against it. My PD is RoW April 2002. Just praying to get "out of this mess" ASAP.
From yesterday at CNN:

"...
PILGRIM: It certainly seems so. There have been quite a few field hearings all through the summer on immigration throughout the country. What can we expect after Labor Day, sir?

SENSENBRENNER: After labor day, the House will look at the results of all of the field hearings, which I think have shown that the Senate bill is more than putting the nose of the camel under the tent. We not only have the whole camel under the tent, but probably a herd of camels there as well.

Border security has to come first. Enforcing employer sanctions has to come next. And unless we do those two things, any type of immigration reform isn't going to work because it's always cheaper to hire an illegal immigrant than to hire a citizen or a legal immigrant with work authorization.

PILGRIM: All right. We look forward to the Fall and some movement possibly on this issue.

Although Catdog isn't mincing words and could phrase the issue in a different manner; many people do miss the point.

EB is employment base system. It is based on employer.

Everyone wants greencard as fast as they can. If it isn't the quota then it has to be inefficiency in the process. People are just trying to understand it and think there has to be something more to this.

However, what everyone does miss is that if you want the quota increased, there has to be a legitimate case.

I haven't seen anyone give legitimate reasons; either on the boards, lawyers or lobby groups.

The question to answer is:

How is USA being harmed by not letting in more foreigners?
How are employers being harmed?
What impact to the economy is there, if any of not allowing more non immigrants to immigrants.
Is the current breakdown in the system due to the 245i applicants and should there be a one time increase that sunsets in a couple of years or should the increase be indefinite?

To get more favorable responses to increase quotas there has to be a give and take. If you really analyze how people get H-1's and employment base greencards, you will find that it is not with the intended purpose.

If there is a study done which showed:

As a % how many employers are H-1b dependent
Size of companies sponsoring H-1b's and greencards
% of employees going for greencards in a company
Ethnicity of the company officers along with ethnicity of employees

The results would not be favorable. It would be concluded that specific systems have been designed to circumvent the spirit of immigration laws.

If there is an increase in the quota along with some rules put in saying that a company could only have xx amount of h-1b's as a % of total workforce or can only have xx amount of people going for permanent residents as a % of total employees then you would see how little employment base immigration there really would be. There would be a much greater chance of getting a bill passed that would put more stringent controls around how one can get an employment base greencard.

American companies do not advertise a job and say, you know what we can't fill this position so let's now go and advertise in Nigeria to see if we can get a Nigerian to do this job. That is really how the system is supposed to work.

You should qualify this question by "how many foreigners on regular H1"

This country really thrives on its ability to attract best of minds from across the world. Recent visa restrictions have helped lot of other countries to play catch up in areas of biology and technology.

Taking one step back, how many would come to US to study if they dont have an opportunity to work and live here?

Adding to your points, the law makers are intelligent enough to create EB classes and special MS H1 quota (20K). They know the consequences of shutting down H1 or EB GC completely.

GreenCardVirus .....i agree with u.....if there was no GC people will still come on H1 but not the same quality..........and almost 80% of students will go somewhere else...

but that will be also loss of indian medicos and nurses.....who do not have the same opportunity in india.....unlike IT people..

I agree to certain extent that the best of the brains are not coming to usa anymore......atleast in IT......the toppers from my class who joined Infosys, wipro, satyam etc......they did not come here in H1 visa....they do come here on assignments (not lasting more than 6-9 months).

this was 4-5 years back....i am sure with the current GC mess.....even the second best brain will think twice.

but things are not so rosy (atleast in india) in other field........Medicos can make 10 times more in usa than in india......even nurses and Phd research sceintists do not have the same career options as over here..
