To get PCC from chicago consulate

Please give me the details how to apply PCC to chicago consulate? Can i download any form from the net? Please provide me the phone no. Thanks

PCC takes 45 days

I called 312 595 0405 ( Chicago Consulate) , was told to pay 11 + 20 ( for telex) dollars.

Made two Money Orders for $ 31 each to " Consulate General Of India , Chicago" One each for wife & myself.

Will post soon

I just sent $ 11 to New York, and they said they faxed my request, should I beleive them? If you dont send $20 what is the normal procedure? So if you use extra $ 20 is it any faster than 20 days?

Hi gabbar, when did you file for the PCC? What all documents did you send? How long before you got a case number from them?
 
telex or fax

I think the telex charges are on the statute before the days of fax. Telex may still be better though. A lot of offices (including post offices) in India switch off their fax machines during night time to reduce fire hazard. I would suggest that the best thing is to apply for PCC as soon as you file I-140 and let it take its time. The certificate will be valid as long as you don\'t go to India before your interview date. My 2Cs worth!

I applied about 2 weeks back. You download the Misc. Services form from CGNY website and send along with photo copy of PP. They did not give me any case number, just confirmed when I called them that they are processing my appln. and have faxed the information to Bangalore.

gabbar how long does it take to obtain pcc from newyork consulate. I have interview in feb if I apply now do I have enough time to get it. What is the fastest way to get it. thanks.

If your PP has been issued by CGNY 1 day otherwise upto 45 days. If you have an interiview in Feb, dont waste any time and apply TODAY.

gabbar007 , I do not have any idea what they will do if you do not sent the extra $20 , I was going to sent $11 according to the form , but send the extra $20 after talking to someone on phone.

You could call up and talk with someone
 
Orignal PP mentioned on website

But you can mail copy of PP, and then actually go to Consulate to get stamp on PP, when PPC comes. This way you need not send your PP by mail
