Hi,

I just came across your view that case transffer to local office does not mean an interview unless it is mentioned for. My case ( I 485, ND Nov. 2002 ) is transferred to local Cleveland office on Oct 27 2004. Letter does not indicate for an interview, it simply state that case is transfer to local office for speedy processing... like that. Shall I espect direct approval? My attorny says I will get an interview letter.

Please you and all of friends share your opinion. My case is under 245(i).

Usually if it says that its transferred for speed processing, the local office will approve it without an interview. They simply transferred it to reduce the backlog at the service center.

Although they transferred your case, they took the option to waive the interview. They have this option.

I have seen cases on this forum where it was transferred for speed processing and an interview occurred anyways, but those are rare. I think these people may have thought this was an interview, but instead it was just the passport stamping.

Either way you will get a letter that you have to go for your stamping, once you're approved, but this is not considered your interview, so do not confuse the two.

Good luck!
