It is okay to take attend school or take internship when the EAD is expiring.

It is OK to attend college. But you may have problems with internship. You need the EAD to work (internship for all practicle purposes is work - even if you are not being paid). You can only do internship while you have a unexpired EAD.
Thats what I think.
