Hi everybody!!! What are the reasons for denial of I-485? How do INS find out about these so-called reasons? For example, if one has ever worked without authorization, Layed off from the job.... Please respond and list other factors upon which there may be denial for AOS.

Denial of an I485 is rare if one follows the book (particularly for employment based applications) , but there are several reasons why it could happen:

1. Criminal background
2. Failure to respond to RFEs (i.e. RFE for employment)
3. Falsification of information
4. Mistakes by BCIS

I'm sure other readers can elaborate.
