Folks,

I noticed that when my case was tranferred to the local office, my ND has been changed to the date of the transfer.
I was wondering if the ND is used by the local office to prioritize the cases.
My RD is 12/11/01
My new ND is 2/20/04 (old was 12/12/01)

Dallas is currently processing case with RD of 3/15/03.
I am not sure if they use RD or ND to prioritize the case.
I had stopped by the Dallas office but the only answer I could get was that the case is with them and that nothing more can be said/done about it.

Let me know your views/thoughts on this.

Appreciate your time

Pip

ND is just notice date. It is alaways date on which notice is printed. That is the date your local office has printed your receipt.

Hello PIP

My I-485 Case is also transferred to DALLAS District
office on 12/18/03 and my notice date alsochanged to
12/18/03. But the receipt date is fixed like before.
Now Dallas is processing 3/15/03.

Did you visited Dallas District office? I am planning
to visit. My Client is in CA but my Company is in Plano.
Whether the Dallas visit will be worth full ? Need
your opinion badly because Dallas District office
visit involves flight, Hotel and Car rental.

srbose,

It is a complete waste of time and money.
I live in dallas so it was just a waste of time for me :)
The officer, which surprisingly was a desi said that all he could tell me was that the case is 'pending' in the office. The file has reached the dallas office from mesquite and that it is a pending case. He could not tell me any other details.
He took a wild guess and said it might be 6m-1yr before I can hear from them...So I have just taken a back seat approach and just waiting....

Let me know if you have any other questions

Pip

Thank you PIP

I really appreciate your Reply. You saved me from
my money, time, energy and great expectation
from Dallas District office. My greatest worry is
my I-140 is revoked before 180 days of filing
I-485. Do not find any hope or direction
of I-485 approval .

Pip,
That sounds quite unreasonable. If the current processing date is in September '01 and your ND is Dec. '01, you would expect your case to get adjudicated when the TSC's processign date goes past Dec '01.

But now if by transferring to local office your have to wait even longer (and the original ND does not matter any more), that seems unfair.

Are you sure that nothing can be done once the TSC processing date goes past your original ND?

Best wishes.

pip,

As far as what I learnt from my experience, I don;t think the transfer date matters. The Dallas office is processing 2003 cases (based on original RD of the petition) and you should receive your interview letter pretty soon.

My case was transferred on 30th Jan, 04 (RD Oct 2001) and Dallas office was processing Dec., 2001 cases then. The inteview was scheduled for 23 Feb, 04.

Hope that helps.

Good luck.

Jaysee
