Do u think that the case is scrutinised before u apear for the interview...as in 2 minutes (average time for the interview) like most of the successful CPer\'s how can they go through everything..i fail to understand..the reason i am asking is not all the cases are clean so do they ignore the fact that everything is taken care in previous processes or its yur LUCK that day!!! i hope i am clear ...as this is like touching the Summit without much of the effort...Also everyone whose dependent was on H1 also do they check the previous records of the dependent and interview them as well!!!

Do not worry- CP is a very easy process.
Once your I_140 is approved then there is no way that your CP will be rejected unless you are a
1) Person with AIDs or TB or similar diseases
2) A person with felony violations
3) A person who does not beleive in god almighty.
Relax---Once you get your interview date, be assured that you are a GC holder.
NO CHECKS other than FBI checks are done during CP.

Yes, after NVC sends your case to consulate and it has approx 2 months to create a file for you and do background checks etc for you.
They do a FBI check on you, but of you do not have any FBI or INS issues then you should be OK.
The reason lot of people do not do CP is that it makes you take a trip, disrupt your life/kids school and is an additional expense. Also lot of people are scared that since their H1 will be cancelled then they will not be able to come back to the US if denied GC.

based on my experience today in the chennai consulate..they are not doing
any background check or going thru the docs line by line for sure..yes they are not.imm after collecting the docs from all of us they started calling us in 15mts and for every case that person is just browsing the front page of the docs.not even looking at the details..yes.as long as u have ur papers in the order mentioned it will be just a breeze.go to the counter and sign and pay the fees.only for some rare cases they may ask q\'s or extra docs.so dont worry.CP is really cool at the END.
