I had a question about the TN Visa. How does the tax structure work for this visa? Are you taxed based on the US taxes or Canadian taxes or is it double taxation?

Are there any issues if you buy land or residential property?

Thanks

depends where you live

If you live in US and leave canada then only US taxation
if you live in canada then cdn taxes (us taxes + (cdn - US tax credit)

I had a question, why would you need a TN visa if you are in Canada, I thought the TN visa is for working in the US, regarding your second point are you talking about US citizen working in Canada?

Canada will tax you on residency

So if you still have residential ties to canada, even though you are on TN/H1-B you still have to pay taxes to canada.

When you move to USA , you have to finish all your ties to escape canadian taxation and then you will pay only US taxes

Thans guys. so even if you are on a TN visa working in US, you have to pay US taxes, but you don't have to pay canadian taxes if you don't have a house, don't use your funds in Canada, medical benefits etc?

No house , no spouse , no employment income , NO medical NO car registration, no Driving license and no other residential ties
