TN Renewal Question...

My bf is from Canada. He was employed with a company here in the US, and in the process of changing positions.

The company sponsoring him terminated his employment early, as of 9-21-07. His new employment doesn't start until November, but he doesn't have a letter of employment from that company yet.

What is the best course of action at this point? Should he file a I-539 to change his status until he gets the offer letter, and then file a I-129 for a new TN? Help please!

Thank you :)

File I-539 to change the status (to B1/B2 and then back to TN) asap.

Thank you so much for your help!

So should he file a I-539 for change to B1/B2, and then another I-539 for change back to TN, or should the second filing be a I-129?

And can the I-539 be filed electronically?

You are correct: I meant I-539 to change the status to B2 and the I-129 to change it back to TN, once he gets the job.

I think I-539 can be submitted electronically. You might want to verify this though.
