Is it still true that the TN visa holders are allowed 240 days grace period, meaning that if they submit the TN renewal applications before the TN visa expiration date, they can continue to work for 240 days while the applications are processed? I remember this has always been the case.
 
I am asking this question as my employer had been insisting on seeing the USCIS approval notice before the TN visa expiration date. Fortunately my TN renewal application was approved in time.
 
Yes, you can file for TN extension prior to current TN expiry date. This gives you the 240 day grace period as the extension is being processed.
