TN Question

Hi
I noticed many of you are on a TN and are trying to renew or get a new TN by mail with waiting for a reply for a long time.

why not go through premium processing?

"INS guarantees that within 15 calendar days the agency will issue either an approval notice, a notice of intent to deny, a request for evidence or a notice of investigation for fraud. If INS fails to meet its 15-calendar-day guarantee, it will refund the $1,000 to the company. It will still continue to process the petition expeditiously."

Does this no longer apply?

I also read somewhere that USCIS is trying to clear up the backlog of work visa's, then starting Jan 2007 all work visa's will be processed by their correct time.

Anyone know of this????????????

I think the reason most people don't use premium processing for TN mail-in renewals is that given that the price is $190 +$1000, which is much greater than a flight from anywhere in the US to Canada would cost to do a POE renewal.

Also, while it is certainly a headache to wait for VSC to process the petition under regular processing, it's not a major problem because the petitioner has 240 days of legal working grace time after the expiry of the old TN while the new petition is being processed.
