Hi gurus,
My labor has been certified. The title on LC is 'System Architect'
However company reclassified job titles and decided to give meaningful titles which reflect the nature of the job.
So now my title is 'database admin'

I am going to file I-140/I-485 concurrently.

what title should be in I-140 ? should I use 'System Architect'
(which appears on LC)
OR 'database admin' (which will appear on all current and future paystubs)

lawyer is going to file with 'System Architect' (same as on LC)

what are the pros and cons of using 'System architect' v/s 'database admin' on I-140 / I-4

Its always better to go with what is mentioned on your LC. I would go with System Architect. Since LC is the foundation for your GC process, ensure that you are as close as possible to the details mentioned in the approved LC. Sometimes, the approved LC will have other titles which can be accepted. I believe this again depends on if that kind of information was mentioned at the time when LC was filed. For Eg: For a Programmer Analyst position, the lawyer could mention that Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Developer etc are all acceptable titles.

Good Luck,

Cheers,

Agree to an_anonymous.

Also paystub is not a problem - your lawyer can defend your GC as
future job.

Thanks guys,
for the reply.
I checked with the lawyer and she said that it was a mistake.
i.e 'Architect' should not be there on I-140.
She is going to change it to 'database admin' on the I-140 when she files it.
LC will have 'Architect, systems'
She says that she will draft a letter to be sigened by my HR people which explains that this is a title change only and the nature of the job has not changed etc. etc.
We will then attach this letter to the I-140.

I hope this will help me.
