Hello,
I am single, from India, I-140 approved and at the 485 stage, PD current is current. I would like to get to 6 month elibility stage without getting I-485 approved, inorder to be eligible for adding spouse later thro FTJ or AOS.

The one tip I have heard is postponing FP. Can someone please comment on

1. How long it takes to get the first FP notice, generally...?

2. How many times can it be pushed out? How much time does it usually buy?

3. Are there any good reasons required to PUSH it out?

Any other tips for prolonging 485 approval?

Thanks!

please edit your title. It sounds like you try to give us tips, but in fact you are trying to get tips from us...

I agree with buzzhd. Change the title. I was sucked in with the title.

Finger print notification is fast ( usually one month) after you apply for I 485.

If you haven't applied for I 485, then wait until you get your spouse issue sorted.

Regarding your other questions, i haven't heard people delay their process. It's hard enough to even get the process started these days. Many people leave the country fed up that their green cards did not get processed faster.

My suggestion: get your ball rollling!
