Since this portal gave me very good advices in the past, I would like to ask you several additional questions.
My girlfriend is currently waiting for her green card.
In approximately 15 days, she will have the right to go to the INS and claim her work authorization in a local INS office of California.
My questions are:
1) As soon as she as this authorization, can she ask for a SSN?
2) How long does it take to obtain this SSN?
3) Is there a shortcut to obtain this SSN?
In fact, she is a nurse and need this SSN to be registered as a Nurse in California, and then being hired by an hospital.
Do you have any details about that too?
I mean: do you need just a work authorization to behired, or do you need to wait for a SSN?
