Time to receive initial response from Buffalo

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I am writing to see if any one is in a similar situation. I sent in my application on Aug 25 and it was delivered at Buffalo(based on the date mentioned by the carrier) on Aug 27. It has been close to 2.5 months now and still no response. Wondering if anyone has faced this issue. I would also like to know as to how to figure out what is going on, in terms of how long it would take or just a confirmation from the Buffalo office, saying that my application has been received. Is there a phone line where they can be reached for such queries.

I am also in the same boat. I have sent my application on Aug27. They received it on Sep-1. No response yet, except my USPS return recipt.

I have big doubt. Is IELTS test is mandatory? I have just sent a written explanation of my education and usage of English. At any point, will they ask for the test result?

I do not think it has anything to do with IELTS. I send my application with IELTS score, but i am still waiting. My guess is the number of application would have been high in Aug-Sep time.
