Time to land

I got my PR visa stamped on my passport on July 8th. How much time do I have before I have to land in Canada.

I need to get my visa extension stamped on my passport, before I can land (my company will not give me the required documentation so I can get it stamped in Canada) therefore it will take at least 3 months before I can land...

Thanks for your help

Hi Vault,
I had submitted my Passport and it is reached in CIC Buffalo on July 31st, 2003 and it is 11 days is over. How many days usually takes to get it back? Is it 2 Weeks or 10 days? I had sent by FedEx with Return envlope

I have a plan to go to India and back as soon as I land in Canada. And also I want to come back in a month time (probably early Oct 2003). I am not planning to wait for PR to come in. Is it okay to travel from India to Canada with same Landing paper? I have read some where, Landing papers are good for travel till Dec 31st, 2003. Or do I need to have a separate travel doc from Canadian embassy in India? If it is yes, how long it takes?

I have applied for myself and family. Do I get different landing papers each one of us or just a single doc which include everyone?

Pls reply me as soon as u can, it would be really appreciated.

Thanx & Regrds

i guess you need your PR card to travel from india to canada. as i understand, if you take a commercial carrier (airlines) you do need the PR card even till dec 2003 if you want to come back to canada. you can get a one time entry visa form canadian consulate in india if reqd. but you should be able to convince the counsular officer of the reason why you came back to india before you received your PR card by mail after landing in canada, the first time.

Normally it is 2 weeks. In other words it is 10 working days.

Once you land, your landing paper will be stamped with Not valid for travel stamp, and if you plan on landing directly from India, the Airlines will not allow you to board or complete the journey. In case if you decide to go this route, you will have to get a travel document/one way visa to enter. I am not sure of the processing time by the Canadian Consulat ein New Delhi.

I would like to suggest that you wait for your landing papers and your passport to arrive, and check the expiration date. If you will be coming back from your trip abroad before the expiration date, then land in Canada directly from Abroad. When you land, make sure you have proof of funds, and a list of goods to follow.

each person will have their own landing paper.

Landing from India !

Hi Vault,
We (Wife, son and myself) got passport stamped from Buffalo Canada. Currently my family is in india, I got their passport here and stamped. Before landing in to Canada from US, can I directly goto India and landing into Canada from India? Is it any complication here? Is it any rule saying Principal PR holder has to land Canada from the country (US) where you were applied for PR? Is it anybody had this kind of situation and tried to travel from India?
If I goto Canada, I have to wait till I get PR card to come back, am I right. We don't have a time to wait till that time, bcos Medical is expiring in 1st week of Oct, 2003.

Pls guide me as soon as possible and it would be really appreciated.

Thanx & Regrds
