We all know that USCIS does several checks internal and external

I was wondering if they do the FBI NC first and after those results come back they do the internal checks ?

n e idea guys

Yes, USCIS does the internal checks after they get the namecheck done by FBI. After the internal checks (what they are typically calling them as BACKGROUND CHECK), the file will be passed to an IO for adjudication.

Well when i spoke to the I/O last week, he said some of your checks are complete and some are not......so based on what you are saying, my NC might be clear......

I am laughing (i think I am going insane) while i write this.........at how i am clutching at straws....

:)

I think we are indeed clutching at straws here :)
I have been told different things by three different IO's. I have been told that its pending background check. I have been told that its pending security check. ... I have no idea... maybe I should take an infopass appointment.

2002calabor,

Wish you good luck.

I hope you do not hear a different story there that everything is hunkydory. My understanding is the that it is prior step to adjudication at USCIS itself.
