time limit for starting job after H1 approval?

is there any time limit that you have to start your job within a particular time period after your H1 is approved?

please help.
 
Theoritically start the new job before the paystub covered severance period.
Anything later than 30 days will definitely attract some punitive action from USCIS (when you do the transfer later)
