time interval bet. end of studies and OPT start date?

someone please help.

Studies (on F1) finishing on june 30, and job offer (on OPT) is for job from Oct 20. I know that OPT form has to be filed BEFORE finishing your studies; (that will be before june 30 in this situation).

my question: -
is there any Maximum time period, after finishing your studies, beyond which you can not start OPT.

what i mean to ask is, should the job start earlier than oct 20 in this case? If yes, what is the longest time period by which one can get/start OPT?

i searched the USCIS website and found the answer:
