Time from Green Card to Citizenship?

How long does it take from filing for citizenship to getting it, and what documentation is necessary - any groundwork that can be done before time? I know it is after 5 years from recieving green card that one can file.....

Yeah, and whatever "tracker" thread (here) that covers your service center & district office...

From filing N-400 to taking oath could take 3-4 months or it could take 3-4 years. You never know in advance.
