Time Frames for IGA requested Waiver for J2

Hi Guys,

I am on my F1 visa and had a J2 visa in the past.I have applied for IGA requested waiver as State Dept. says it will act as an interested Govt. agency in my case. I have submitted all the paper work but havent received a case number yet from the State Dept. Can anyone tell me what are the time frames for an IGA requested waiver and how to go about it?? Thanks in advance.
 
I'm a little confused - why are you applying for a waiver? Except in certain special circumstances, only the J-1 can apply for a waiver, not the J-2.

If you did everything by paper mail (and not electronically), it may take a few weeks to get the case number, especially with the just finished holiday season and all.
