Time Frame for I-485 ad I-765

Hey,

As you see on my timeline, it's taken some time for me to get my EAD approved, but this morning the status online was changed, so I'm really happy!
My questions are:
my status on the I-485 hasn't changed for some time, it shows the 120-180 days wait message. Is this a realistic time frame? I thought it took about a year for someone to get an interview....

How long will it take for me to recieve my card, now that it has been approved? And is there a way I can get a SS# faster? The SS office says it takes 2 months for a card, but I've waited so long and I want to start working!

Anyone with any info, please let me know.

It is my understanding in about 2 weeks you should received your EAD card.

About the SSN, you need your EAD to do so. And is very strange that they tell you that 2 months, why? When I asked to the SSA they told me in 7-10 business days (and in several occations I asked about it).

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I called the SSO, and they said the 7-10 days time frame is only for replacement cards. They said that they're backed up, and that it takes about 2 months for them to issue an original card.
I did hear from a couple of people (including the USCIS) that they might be able to give me my number right away, and then I won't have to wait for it (my future employer only requires the #).

So, my online status is "On July 28, 2005, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Still waiting....

Anyone who's gone through the same thing, how long did it take for you to have everything necessary for work, from the moment you got your permit approved online?
