Time Frame For Feb 2002

For Feb 19 RD, a reasonable estimate should be sometime this fall like OCT 2003 if your background check is returned w/o huge delay - Note the current avg. proc. time for EB-485 at VSC is 19 mos (+ 1 mo margin).

My observation (dream!)

Ofcourse this is not based on any statistics but my optimistic opinion is Feb approvals will be first seen in late August. This is only if approvals are seen in the same pace as now.

Is that sfe to change job now, actually I got laid off from my sponsoring company joined another company as contractor now chances are there that I may get some permanent good offer, what do you guys say to leave this contracting position and join the another permanent position.
Thanks

You have no choice

If you are laid off, you have to get a job that satisfies your labor certification - job title, skills, salary, etc.

It is prudent that you accept this offer right away. Also insist the new company to keep the existing job title.

If in case you get an RFE, you could still use the AC-21 clause for the new job.

My title has been changed from Programmer Analyst to Software Engineer but job responsibilties are the same, will this make a difference salary wise I am OK

NO problem...

two RD Feb,2002 already got approved .
Any time after July 9 , 2003 . Just my guess ..

Change the job if the job description mathces. I don't think you need to get the same salary. But it is always better to get more. Did you work for 180 days with sponsoring employer. Did you have w2's with the salary you mentioned in the 485. If not build up some story that you were on vacation etc etc.

Surely you will get the approval between July 15th and August 15th.
