Just wondering ...
If we look at cases being approved these days , they are guys who have done their FP\'ing in August 2000.
So does this mean it is taking six odd months to get the approval? Or is it that only cases with RFE\'s are taking this long.

Or wondering whether the holidays in Novenmber and December attributed to the cause of the delays.
So it is possible to conclude that guys who are having their FP\'s in Feb/March , should expect something in July or August ?

Any inputs ???

INS stopped issuing FP notices around sept 00, at that time they were sending out notices to Oct 99 cases. They then resumed sending out FP notices starting from April (I think) 2000 cases. The remaining Oct 99 cases and beyond started recieving FP notices only in Feb 2001 so I don\'t think we will have to wait for 6 months. Possible 1 or 2 months from FP. Thats my opinion.

I think FP has nothing to do with the approval process except that FP should be done before they send the final approval notice. There are cases waiting for over 1 year after FP while people who have done FP three months back getting their approval.

According to my attorney if your finger prints are done and your PD is current then you should get an approval in 1-2 months. Ofcourse the ND should be their current processing date. Ofcourse the PFEs would delay it by 2-6 weeks.
Eg: Say your finger prints are done on 2/1/01. It would take 2 weeks for your finger prints to be uploaded in to INS system. Then your file is assumed to be complete by 2/15/01. If your PD is current the file goes to the officer/supervisor who should take 1-4 weeks to approve the case. You can start expecting something after 3/15/01.

My undestanding is that the processing of the batch starts when they send out you FP notice - which has bascially started happenning for 10/15/99 through around Feb2000 applications. Most FP notices appear to be from March 13-15 and then it takes about 2-4 weeks to get the clearance. Which mean that by the time the approval comes, and it put into the system, it\'s the end of April.

What has been holding the process up all these months is that the August through 10/15/99 applications were rather significant in number. However, volumes start dipping back to close to normal in November \'99 and so we can anticipate approvals for November and December \'99 applications happening rather quickly, with January and Feb\'00 applications being adjudicated in about 2-3 months after the Nov/Dec\'99 applications are approved. So, January applications will start being approved around June 2001.

Why CSC is much faster than VSC (almost one year faster). If the numbers in Aug-Oct of 1999 are very significant, the CSC would have met the same problem. Therefore, the reason is still a puzzle. If the VSC of INS can give a reasonable explanation, we may expect the approval dates of I-485 case. Wish the VSC goes with the same step as CSC. 485waiter

I am expecting it to be even faster. I would not be surprised if VSC starts approving Feb or even March 2000 around June 2001. Once again, all calculations are true only if PDs dont become current by then.

CSC is faster than VSC because of the delays in Labor and I140 processing. When the dates became current in Aug 1999, there were many people with I140 approved and waiting in VSC, whereas in CSC people were still waiting for their I140 or Labor approval. In other words, there were very few people with PD not current and waiting in CSC at that time. Hence, there was not a huge surge in applications in CSC, than in VSC.

Just my thoughts.
