Time for citizenship, Green Card lost

Dear all, the time has come for my family to apply for Citizenship.
My husband, one of my children, and myself have actual Green Cards. My other child's Green card, however, was lost in the mail, and we never actually received it.

Now, that it's time to apply for Citizenship, I'm worried that we would need to request a duplicate.
Do you know, if would need to have an actual Green card in our possession, or just the number could be sufficient for the filing.
Thank you.

How old is the child with the lost green card?

Do you have any proof the child's green card was actually approved, like an I-485 approval notice or I-551 passport stamp?
