Time for case to show up online?

How long does it take for a case to show up on line from the date it was sent?

I've seen many timeline posts but none is clear?

I had sent my IGA waiver application (including all documents necessary except the letter from IGA) to DOS on November 15, 2005 and I remember well that it showed up online within 3 weeks. Note that this was in 2005, not 2006. (I have been waiting for NASA as my IGA to take action since then!)

More info

Response from a lawyer at a law firm:

"We checked and the current processing time until the case status becomes available is 3 weeks."

You may want to call the DOS at 202-663-1225. To save time, press "1" when the message starts playing and then "2" after the next message (unless you want to spend the time listening to everything you already know). Then (I THINK) press "1" again and then "0" to speak to a human. They are normally very snappy and want to finish the conversation ASAP so I would immediately state that your J-1 waiver items were received at the lock box on Nov 7 but you don't have an online status yet and ask if you should be concerned that your application is lost.

Thanks guys,

I double checked my time line and I realized that I've sent my paper, actually, on Nov. 10th, 2006. Then I checked my tracking number and it did arrive (St. Louis) on the following Monday (No. 13th, 2006.) That is a total of more than 4 weeks.

Not sure if I should panic!
But funny enough a friend of mine (same country, same sponsor USAID, same NoObj) got his paper lost at DOS, and it took more than 6 months to sort things out (DOS kept telling him to wait it out). Finally, he was told the DOS has no record of his case (lost). He immediately got a lawyer re-filed and got his waiver in less than three months total.

May be I'll wait till next week to start panicking....I'll call their phone also.
