Time For a New Moderator

Ok - I think its time to get a new moderator for this forum. I have nothing against Gilbert - but he no longer frequents the forum. I've noticed more and more attacks on individuals and it needs to be stopped.

If no-one else wants to do it - I volunteer.

Its a shame this forum has come to this - where some individuals will get their messages deleted.

"If you can't say something nice - then don't say anything at all." <-- this often comes to mind when I read some passages.
 
Gilbert is the best

If Gilbert can spare some time for this forum, he is the best one around. He edits/deletes objectionable messages whenever he is around. As a members of this forum, we shouldn't have objectionable messages. Due to couple of stupid messages, I would never question Gilbert's ability to be the Moderator of this forum. Remember folks, he is volunteering his free advise. He is studying law. His advices are always very valuable and carry a lot of weight. How can we look into a gift horse in the mouth?

A few members derive pleasure by posting insulting messages here and I do not think a moderator can have the time to monitor this board. People have lives besides this. I suggest have more than one moderator.
 
Lolali tell us your background in less than 200 words. Make sure you highlight your accomplishments in board-management..any kind!..If you have solved dispute among your family members..Please highlight those! for Instance "Shoved a donut in my son's mouth when he and my daughter faught"...
 
- My intention is not to discredit Gilbert. He is the most knowledgeable person on this forum.

- I agree with Hampton... we need more than one moderator. So just because someone else becomes a moderator, Gilbert need not cease his role as moderator. This was my original intent.

- All jokes aside, I only volunteered as a last resort. Main reasons being I frequent this forum often - even though I got my GC a while back. I come here to support and share my experiences. I also like to think I am a fair person. [Is that enough self-praise? :) ]

- I would gladly support anyone who is up for becoming a moderator - in addition to Gilbert.

- I can understand members getting frustrated with one another - and that is OK. However, the use of name calling, etc. - that is what takes away from the dicussions.
 
Gilbert has been and will continue to be a valuable contribution to this forum. Deleting repeated ridiculous messages is annoying after a while. I do support a second moderator position.

I could be wrong, but I could have sworn I saw a message from Gilbert sometime back saying he no longer wanted to moderate.
The bottom line is someone has to moderate because some people in this forum are starting to take a hateful and racist attitude towards discussions.
LolaLi seems to be mature and has voluntered his/her time.

I am withdrawing from this forum effective tonight. I simply cannot devote so much time to delete inappropriate messages and keep everybody happy. A few people here have been doing their best to spoil the the climate here. Checking messages here is not interesting anymore.

This week marks the third anniversary of my participation here. It is a good way to mark the end, having posted more than 1000 messages.

To Alanpero and Jack (if you are still here), thank you for your cyber friendships.

To Shamshon: I enjoyed the ways you saw things. I hope the November election results will make you happy, since you are so fervent about them.

To RAsylee: Good luck to you and to your family in Canada.

Farewell and in due course I am sure everyone here will become a proud American citizen.

Gilbert has been answering questions and has been deleting inappropriate messages. He also seems to be neutral, something that neither myself nor others are. I would not trust this forum with anyone but Gilbert.
 
how about 2 moderators?

we come here to exchange info and help each others out, right?

I like both Gilbert and Lolali. Gilbert is not as active as he was half year before, but to me he has been doing his job as a knowledgable and fair manager. Lolali is very active , very helpful and "nice" figure.

Why don't we make both of 'em as moderators. deal?

Once the moderator deletes a message, we can no longer see it on the screen. The moderator and the original poster are the only people who can still see it, I believe. I am pointing this out because I have been to the site a lot. I often see inappropriate messages posted and within an hour or so they are gone, presumably deleted by the moderator. Did the moderator miss some offensive mesages. Sure. But he has deleted more than some of you think.
