Time between getting Fingerprinting notice and having to appear for FP

I know this may vary - but I'd like to get the views of members here.

What is the approximate advance notice given when you get the Fingerprint notice for the N-400?

Let me explain:
Lets say we apply for the N-400. And lets say, at some point of time, we get the FP letter (say on date XYZ)...what would be the date they ask you to APPEAR for the fingerprinting? Would that be like 5 days from the date of letter, 2 weeks from the date of letter, 1 month from the date of letter?

The concern is if I'm out of the country when FP notice arrives, how much time would I usually have to get back into USA, if I cut short the trip? (assuming I dont want to postpone the FP)

desihai,
Thanks.

Others - pls. post your experiences as well. If possible include which District Office (DO) you belong to.

My FP notice took more than 3 months to arrive. My FP appointment was exactly 14 days after the notice arrived. A total of 4 months to get my FP done after I mailed my N-400. Now i'm just waiting for the Interview letter.
